MUN Conference
I joined MUN in 8th grade but I've never been truly engaged with the club until this year, as I decided to go to my third MUN conference in San Silvestre. In order to be truly prepared for this, I started investigating about a week early. Therefore, I crafted a position paper and an elongated research paper on every country which would take part. The topic was "Tax Heavens", so, as Liechtenstein, I would have to defend the benefits of being one. Investigating this topic was somewhat difficult being that there are vast quantities of information on both sides of the argument, which all contained incredibly different sets of situations which would never be applied universally. In order to prepare for the public speaking aspect, I began to practice my opening speech as to get comfortable with my topic as a whole. Moreover, once the conference came to be, I was able to learn about the plethora of perspectives which I hadn't considered. Overall, regardless of the fact that I was Liechtenstein - the smallest country in the conference - my country was the focal point of attention to the point where I was framed for the bombing of Sweden.

Facing New Challenges - BPA
When I initially joined BPA back in 9th grade, I did not have the slightest idea what the club was going to be about, moreover, I'd never had a business class. It has been more than two years now and I'm proud to say that I have become the club's treasurer. I've always felt passionate about this club, even more important, I've felt as an integral part, even when I was a newbie. Now that I'm the treasurer, I feel an enormous set pressure on my shoulders as I'm responsible for the club's financial stability. Furthermore, I believe that this job carries more weight than ever in my school being that there have been multiple incidents in different clubs in which the money somehow disappears. Therefore, handling this club's finance ethically is imperative. By recording every transaction, whether we make an investment or gain profit, I will be able to keep up with this challenge. One of my strengths in terms of this job is that I'm good with numbers, meaning that I'll be able to account for all of the monetary transactions. Yet, I believe that there are still things I need to work on as to be the best treasurer I can be, for example, become more strict when deadlines come up as to collect the money. Overall, there are still many things to improve but I believe that I will be able to accomplish them.

Guitar Lessons
As 2016 started, I had my eye open for new movies. After a couple of months, I heard about 'Sing Street', a film about a group of high schoolers who formed a band. Unfortunately, due to its limited release, I wasn't able to watch it. This was, of course, until later in the year, when I was scrolling through the Netflix menu. It was had been hiding for a while on the 'new release' tab. I watched the movie, and then watched it a couple more times in the next few weeks, it was that good. What reeled me into this movie was the relatability of the characters, and the feeling one gets from creating something. This movie made me remember why I love music and prompted my decision to take up guitar lessons. This happened in december of 2016, and I must say, I've enjoyed every second of it.
I won’t lie, it was incredibly difficult at first, according to my teacher I had “weak fingers” and had to strengthen them in order to be able to reach all the notes. I’d miss the rhythm and would have a hard time coordinating both of my hands. My fingers hurt and I wasn’t really creating the sound I wanted, but I stuck to it cause I wanted to learn. I decided to start taking two lessons per week rather than one and was committed to attend every single one.
As time went on, the feeling of playing a guitar became amazing, being able to create music out of thin air blows my mind. Summer came along, which means going to the beach, I would take my guitar and play on the balcony. On a midsummer night, my friends and I decided to make a bonfire. I'd been taking guitar lessons for a while now and decided to take my guitar out as to be able to sing. I can't explain how it felt when I started playing the guitar and my friends started singing along. I thought to myself that I had created a beautiful moment with a couple of strokes in a guitar. I started believing that music opens a door, meaning, it made me think of things in a different manner. The fact that I was able to make a situation better just by playing the guitar made me feel good about myself and ensured me that I had to keep practicing.
Music is a powerful tool, not only that but a direct landline to the soul. It has the ability of changing people, create new thoughts, and most important, making them feel new things. I still have a long way to go in terms of playing guitar, but know that I will stick to it for the rest of my life.
