I was walking through a bookstore last week and as usual, it was very difficult to choose only one book, each one seemed more interesting than the next, this was until my eyes rested upon Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield. There was a quote on this book’s back cover part of which I couldn’t get my mind off of, it stated: “Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life, or whether that station will be held by someone else…” This has lead me to a question which has lingered in my mind since then, am I the hero of my own life?

9th grade's second semester started as any other ordinary second semester would, new projects, new objectives, and new students. I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable for the mixed emotions, I felt sad because summer had ended, glad to see school friends whom I hadn't seen for two months, excited for the challenges that were going to be had throughout the year, and overall, tired because I woke up at 4:30 A.M. What I didn't know back then was that it was going to be one of the most exciting yet exhausting semesters I had gone through.
